Social media giant Facebook is making it easier for its users to catch up with their favorite shows. The social network has just introduced Watch, a new video platform for shows.

Starting from today small group of U.S. users would be able to experience Watch on their mobile, desktop and laptop, and Facbook’s TV apps. However, Facebook is planning to roll out the Watch for all users soon.

Lately, video has been crucial for the company as the social network tries to get users to spend more time on the Facebook. Last year, the social network launched the Video tab in the U.S, which offered a predictable place to find videos on Facebook.

With Watch Facebook is bringing social network aspect to original video content. Watch is personalized to help users discover new shows and organized around what their friends and communities are watching. These shows will not be user-generated videos, but rather professional-grade productions. For now, Facebook is testing with a small group of publishers and creators who are making shows. However, the company plans to expand it and allow others to make shows. Currently available shows on Watch include the ones like Major League Baseball, Tastemade’s Kitchen Little, Nas Daily, Gabby Bernstein etc.

Facebook is also introducing Show Pages to make it seamless to create a Facebook show and publish new episodes. Show Pages are organized in a way that makes it easy for people to understand what a show is all about, watch episodes and other related videos, and connect with communities that have formed around a show. Users will be able to follow the shows they like, and when there’s a new episode of a show, Facebook will inform the show’s followers and the episode will automatically appear in their Watchlist in Watch.
